Community Guidelines
Last updated June 7, 2026
CourseQ is built for students to plan coursework, connect with classmates, and trade on campus. These guidelines explain how to use the app responsibly. They apply to everything you do on CourseQ — profiles, Study Groups, Campus Hub, Marketplace, clubs, events, and direct messages.
By using CourseQ, you agree to follow these guidelines and our Terms of Service. We may update these guidelines from time to time.
Be Respectful to Classmates
Treat others the way you would want to be treated in a lecture hall or study session. Disagreement is fine; personal attacks are not. Use your real voice, keep conversations constructive, and remember that the person on the other side of the screen is a fellow student.
No Harassment, Hate Speech, or Threats
We do not tolerate:
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, or repeated unwanted contact
- Hate speech or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Threats of violence or encouragement of self-harm
- Sharing someone else's private information without consent (doxxing)
- Impersonating another person, instructor, or official campus account
Report this behavior immediately. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts.
Marketplace Safety
CourseQ Marketplace connects buyers and sellers on your campus. CourseQ does not process payments, hold items, or guarantee transactions.
- Only list items you legally own and are allowed to sell under campus and local law
- No illegal items, counterfeit goods, stolen property, weapons, drugs, or academic work sold for cheating
- Be honest about condition, price, and availability — scams and bait-and-switch listings are prohibited
- Meet in public, well-lit campus locations; bring a friend when possible
- Never share banking passwords or send money to unverified strangers outside normal payment apps you trust
CourseQ is not responsible for disputes between buyers and sellers.
No Academic Dishonesty
CourseQ is for learning and organization — not cheating. Do not use the app to share exam answers, completed assignments for submission, unauthorized collaboration, or any content that violates your school's academic integrity policy. We may remove content and take action on accounts that facilitate academic dishonesty.
Verify AI and Syllabus Output
CourseQ's syllabus tools and study suggestions are automated helpers. They can miss dates or misread documents. Always verify deadlines, grades, and policies against your official syllabus and instructor communications. CourseQ is not academic advice and is not affiliated with your university unless we say so explicitly.
Keep Campus Spaces Useful
- Post in the right place — course content in Study Groups, campus-wide items in Hub or Marketplace
- No spam, unsolicited advertising, or repetitive promotional posts
- Respect club and event organizers; check-in features are for genuine attendance
- Use a permanent username thoughtfully — it cannot be changed after registration
Reporting and Enforcement
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, report it to support@course-q.com with as much detail as possible (username, screenshots, listing link, etc.).
We may investigate reports, remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion. We are not obligated to monitor all activity. Repeated or severe violations may result in permanent removal.
For the full legal terms governing your use of CourseQ, including moderation rights and liability limits, see our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
